EarthWISE Certification in DAS Buildings
Marion County honors state buildings with EarthWISE awards
EarthWISE plaque The Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) recently joined the ranks of Marion County’s "EarthWISE" - a designation for organizations who commit to observe environmentally-friendly practices in their facilities. Such practices include green choices in operation and maintenance, as well as choices that buildings' occupants make.  Such practices include buying recycled-content paper and developing an advanced recycling program.
"These agencies have made sustainability a priority," said DAS Director Scott Harra. "They have implemented practices that benefit the environment, the community, and the economy. They support the governor's vision for a sustainable state government through prudent use of resources." Harra added that he believes that sustainable actions like these will compound across state government, helping to generate savings to taxpayers and environmental benefits.

DAS hosted an awards ceremony for staff in these buildings on January 21, 2010 at State Capitol Galleria.
