Brucella ovis
Brucellosis tests on sheep are not part of the USDA program and are NOT performed at ODA-AHL. The OSU Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (541-737-3261) currently runs an ELISA test for B. ovis in sheep.

Equine infectious anemia (EIA)
Equine infectious anemia: ELISA or AGID

The ODA Animal Health Lab now uses the ELISA test as its primary test for Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA). ELISA tests for EIA are run at 1:00 p.m. each afternoon, Monday thru Friday, with results available by 2:00 p.m. that same day.

Summary results of ELISA tests for EIA are faxed directly to the clinic daily. If you need a copy of the official test chart (VS form) faxed, please write "FAX VS form" at the top of the test chart. If we don´t already have your fax number, please fax it to the lab at 503-986-4688, or send via e-mail. If you need copies of official test charts (VS form), call 503-986-4680.

The ELISA test is approved by the USDA and is acceptable for all interstate travel, and is valid for travel to and from Canada and Mexico. We will run AGID ("Coggins") tests only on request. The AGID test requires overnight incubation.

File copy of EIA test chart:
The last (goldenrod) copy of the USDA EIA test form is no longer needed here, so it can be retained at the clinic to verify information and track sample submission.
