Description Perennial; blooms summer to fall. Grows two-three feet tall. Leaves waxy, green, heart-shaped and one-three inches long. Flowers are one inch long and similar to snapdragons. Spreads both by seeds and creeping lateral roots. Impacts This deep rooted perennial out-competes desirable forage plants for moisture and nutrients. Thrives in arid rangelands, pastures, and railways. Introduction Dalmatian Toadflax was introduced in the mid 1800s and is considered an escaped ornamental. It is a native of the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia in the Mediterranean region. Distribution in Oregon
